ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Rooted in Nature, Guided by Bees

Nectar Reserve is a proudly Ontario-based honey company dedicated to producing premium, small-batch honey and pollinator-friendly products. From the wildflower meadows of our apiary to our sustainable packaging, every detail is crafted with care, quality, and a commitment to the land.

Our journey began with two hives on a quiet 160 acre forest in the Region of Waterloo. What started as a passion project quickly grew into an award-winning honey company, with jars now enjoyed in homes, restaurants, and communities across Canada—and beyond. We believe honey should reflect the land it comes from, which is why our bees forage on biodiverse meadows rich in native flora and untouched by monocropping.

OUR FOUNDER

Eric Dowling

As the heart behind Nectar Reserve, Eric Dowling brings a deep respect for bees, nature, and craftsmanship. Since becoming a beekeeper in 2023, he’s grown from just two hives to a thriving apiary, built meaningful partnerships with chefs and retailers, and earned a top-six placement at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair—all within the first year. Eric is also the Treasurer of the Grand River Beekeepers Association and an advocate for sustainable beekeeping practices in Ontario.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Better for Bees. Better for the Earth.

At Nectar Reserve, we go beyond honey. Our apiary is free from synthetic chemicals and plastic foundations, relying instead on beeswax comb and heritage beekeeping methods that promote colony health and resilience. Every choice we make—from FSC-certified packaging to our commitment to zero plastic—is rooted in our promise to leave the world better than we found it.

Our honey is raw, unpasteurized, and 100% Ontario wildflower. Each jar is hand-poured and carefully labelled, representing not just a product, but a story—of bees, biodiversity, and the humans working in harmony.

OUR FUTURE

Growing with Purpose

As we grow, so does our vision. From expanding our product line to exploring Hive Hosting and educational programming, we’re on a mission to inspire a deeper connection to pollinators, food, and the planet. Whether you're enjoying our honey, supporting our eco-initiatives, or simply learning more about bees, you’re part of the journey.
